It was quite an unusual day. It was a pink overcast one, and the sun was struggling to break through a crack in some puffy clouds that looked like marshmallows. Lisa was walking up the side of the stream looking at the water flowing over rounded boulders formed by thousands of years of rushing water. A tiny man was almost invisible as he stood behind a small sycamore tree limb. He startled Lisa when he jumped out and approached her.

James G. Piatt
Dr. Piatt, a retired professor, has had three collections of poetry, "The Silent Pond," (2012), "Ancient Rhythms," (2014), and "Light" (2016), over 1,160 poems, four novels, and 35 short stories, published. His poems have been nominated multiple times for pushcart and best of web awards. He earned his BS and MA from California State Polytechnic University, and his doctorate from BYU.
