Alan Morrison
Alan Morrison is author of fourteen books of poetry, most recently: Anxious Corporals (Smokestack, 2021), Wolves Come Grovelling (Culture Matters, 2023), Rag Argonauts (Caparison, 2024). He is also author of a verse play, Picaresque (2005/8), and a historical novel in verse, The Alderbank Wade (Culture Matters, 2025/6), which was nominated for the Walter Scott and Queen Mary Small Press Fiction prizes. His poems and monographs have appeared in over 80+ journals including The Fortnightly Review, Illuminations (US), The London Magazine, Long Poem Magazine, The Penniless Press, Poetry Salzburg Review (Austria), Red Poets (Wales), Stand, Vsesvit–Ukrainian Journal of World Literature, The Whistling Shade (US), World Literature Today (US). He was a winner of the Bread & Roses Poetry Prize 2018, and Highly Commended in the inaugural Shelley Memorial Poetry Prize 2022. He is founding editor of The Recusant, and is current co-poetry editor for The Morning Star newspaper.
