Govindprasad Shyam Lal Kushwaha was born in a small village Korari, District Fatepur, U.P. in 1944. He did his elementary education locally and High School and Intermediate education at various places in his district. He passed B. A. in English, Education, and Economics from University of Allahabad in 1966, then moved to Gujarat in 1967 and completed his M. A. in English from Gujarat University, Ahmadabad and Ph.D. degree from Agra University in 1995. He also completed his PGDTE from CIEFL, Hyderabad. He started his professional career as a lecturer in English in Arts & Commerce Degree College, Mehsana Gujarat in 1974. After some time he became the Head Department of English and Prof. in-charge of P.G. Centre in English. He has more than 20 research papers and literary articles to his credit which have been published in various magazines and journals; presented papers in literary seminars and conferences; provided his services to Gujarat High School and Higher Secondary School Board Gujarat; presented live telecast on TV (DTH lessons) in English; worked in the capacity of KRP giving training to High School and College teachers and also a reviewer of Text Books in English. He has been associated with a number of academic bodies and professional organizations. Seven Scholars received their PhD degree in English under his supervision. He got his retirement in 2006. He served as the Campus Director at Shri Aarasuri Ambaji Mata Devasthan Trust - one of the most venerated and religious places in Gujarat. He is currently spending much of his time in delivering academic lectures, writing and social work.
