MERE HISSE KEE ROSHNAI is her first collection of Hindi poems. The two meanings of ROSHNAI are conveyed in these lyrics which are written in Hindustani as well as chaste Hindi. The poems are mostly subjective and expressive. Though private in essence, a sensitive reader can find an echo of his or her own feelings in them. These poems can be defined as expressionist maps.

Asha Viswas is a former professor of English, Benares Hindu University, Varanasi, India. She has also taught at Aligarh and at the University of Calabar, Nigeria. Three collections of her English poems have been published and the fourth one is in the press.
