A journey through the depths of Mind is the work of a young poet who has a very natural way of expressing herself through poems. The choice of free verse style shows her yearning for freedom.
Her love for nature, value for human relationship and her view of life and its philosophy is explicit in her poems. The beginning note reflects the undying enthusiasm in her. A burn without fire describes the rain with liberal similes and imagery. The peacock dancing and the falling drops of diamonds make the earth and the song come alive.
Belonging like an alien is in a childlike tone with fantasies and fiction. A beautiful pain deals with philosophy –I can’t dedicate myself to bring joy to others, when I am so lacking in myself. Maya is another beautiful poem which talks of the inner beauty which is the truth and laments why people give so much importantce to the transient nature of appearance.
Death a sprig of numbness, life a blanket of pain depicts the pain and agony of a young girl who is sexually assaulted and how sadly it kills her ambition. How every sound and even a shadow can scare her to death is well painted in the poem.
It is a book worth experiencing and the poet deserves all appreciation.
