Just Breathe is my seventh book of poetry, which includes two Haiku & Senryu books. This is my first book of all micro-poems. I love the challenge of telling a complete story in as few words as possible like a breath of fresh air. It allows the imagination to fill in the details and paint its own picture.
Ann Christine Tabaka’s latest poetry collection JUST BREATHE leaves no doubt in the readers’ minds that she is a supreme poetic genius. Her poems are remarkable for splendid imagination and intense feeling. This is quite visible in the following extraordinary lines:
Hold me in your arms
But do not touch me
I am ice
And I will melt
The philosophical wisdom and depth of these poems reveals Ann Christine Tabaka’s brilliance as a poet. Her concise and terse expression is quite impressive in such immortal phrases and lines, full of profound thoughts: “music is beauty/ to the soul”, “the delicious feeling / of no place to be”, “beneath the surface / lies the truth”, “the moon calls my name/ it knows me well”.
The poems included in JUST BREATHE by Ann Christine Tabaka, one of the greatest contemporary poets, have an irresistible appeal.
