Happy New Year! Welcome to this issue of Harvests of New Millennium with its inclusion of best contemporary artwork and poetry has brought to many the first real enjoyment ofcreative work. Since the inception of this annual journal, I receive a large number of submissions in the genres of poetry and art. Selections are made after a careful scrutiny, andI try my best to publish only high quality poems and visual art The main objective of Harvests of New Millennium is to promote poetry and artworkacross the globe. The creative artists included in this edition deserve to be felt and experienced. The intensity of their imagination is beyond question. The fact is that the importance of imagination can never be belittled by any artist. K. A. Fadin remarks that the ratio of imagination and fact in his own work is 98 to 2.
I and Karunesh Kumar Agrawalwere officially invited to participate in Oslo Literature Festival, Norway: WORDS-ONE PATH TO PEACE AND UNDERSTANDING, 18-20 September 2008 I was really impressed with Oslo’stranquil environment, its cleanness and very kind inhabitants. Whenever we asked for direction or help, they really cooperated. It was very comfortable being in Oslo with its rich culture and fascinating people. The royal palace where the guards are substituted and Vigeland Park with its lofty, miraculous sculptures are really splendid. The authors from several nations, interviews, paper presentation, reading poetry in many languages, release of new books - all such creative activities at the Oslo Literary Festival are a significant event in the global literary calendar.
It is very sad that at least 173 people were killed and at least 308 were injured in the terrorist attack on November 26, 2008 in India’s financial capital Mumbai. Joy and peace is possible only if the inner heart of man abandons hatred and violence for Love and Faith.
I’m highly indebted to all artists of this issue of Harvests of New Millennium for their kind help and support to make this publication possible. I wish you lots of happiness that last the Whole Year through! Best Wishes and Happiness At NEW YEAR.
