Yaseen Anwer

"I was not a poet

And never expected to be

My pain forced me to write

And text became poetry."

                                                                                                          - Yaseen Anwer

Yaseen Anwer has done his schooling from New Delhi (Dr.Radhakrishnan International School and Jamia Senior Secondary School) and at present he is doing his engineering from Bangalore (Dayananda Sagar Institute of Technology).

He started reading and writing poetry at the early age of 14 getting inspired by poems of Rabindanath Tagore and Mirza Ghalib.

He strongly feels emotion holds power beyond human understanding and he says emotion appears best when arranged in the form of poetry. In his opinion poem is and should be completely de-attached from the poet just like a mother giving birth to a child and after the birth child is individual in its own right, although it will always reflect its former. One of his poem "Tomorrow Becomes Yesterday" has also been translated in Chinese by couple of Chinese poet.

He does not bound himself to just English poetry but he also writes in Hindi, apart from verbal art he maintains huge interest in visual art too.
