Dr. Sandip Saha

Born and brought up in Kolkata, Sandip acquired his B.Tech degree in chemical engineering from the Department of Applied Chemistry, University of Calcutta. He went to Mumbai getting a job in the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, in 1978. Based on his research there, he got PhD in metallurgical engineering from the University of Mumbai in 1996 He is working there as a senior scientist now. He has got three awards for his exemplary contributions in the field of chemical processing, water pollution control and chemical technology development for the benefit of nuclear science and industry in India. These awards are Best Metallurgist award in 1996 from Government of India, Hari Om Asram prerit Shri S.S.Bhatnagar award from Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar, Gujarat in 1991and Special Contribution award from Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India in 2007. Besides, he has three patents to his credit and several research publications in national and international reputed journals. Along with his professional career, Sandip has been writing poems for about last two decades. During initial years, he had been writing Bengali poems and published some of them mostly in periodic Bengali journal and souvenirs. Later, he started writing in English and published a book earlier in 1999. From 2006 onward, he has been writing in web constantly and participated in poetry contests regularly in the site. He got a large numbers of Gold, Silver and Bronze trophies in such contests. In the present book, Sandip has portrayed the vast experience he gathered in his life, most importantly his insight in spirituality. He has shown how his quest for freedom has driven him throughout, eagerly seeking an answer to the problems of life. Sandip is happily settled in Mumbai with his wife, Swapna and son, Somsuvra, who is a mechanical engineer and working in a reputed company.
